Creating the Ruth Pullover by Irene Lin with Ito Kinu Yarn

Taiwanese designer Irene Lin is known for her refined and modern knitting patterns. I decided to make the Ruth Pullover using two skeins of Ito Kinu yarn, a very high-quality bourette silk.

Yarn Choice

I chose this yarn for its softness, its slight mélange effect, and its ability to drape beautifully. The result is a pullover with a luxurious feel, with a play of light and shadow that enhances the beauty of the original pattern. The Kinu silk has given my pullover a unique depth.

Twisted Ribbing and Workmanship

The twisted ribbing, which already creates a three-dimensional effect, is further enhanced by the slight irregularity of the silk fiber. However, its slightly rustic structure and lack of elasticity required some attention during the process. This pullover is knitted top-down with a contiguous method and has a V-neck finished with a small i-cord.

Pullover Features

The most interesting feature of this pullover is the body with twisted ribbing, which creates a lovely drape. The effort put into creating this piece cannot be overlooked: in the final part of the body, where there were now more than 500 stitches, it took more than 20 minutes to complete just one round! Despite the difficulties, the final result is more than satisfactory for me.

Versatility and Style

The Ruth Pullover can be worn with jeans, elegant pants, or skirts. The length is customizable: just be careful to do some calculations before moving on to the second block of twisted rib, before the increases. It can be paired with necklaces and earrings for a more sophisticated look and is a perfect piece for autumn.

Availability and Future Projects

The Ruth Pullover is available in 6 sizes (1-6). If you are interested in other knitting patterns by Irene Lin, you can visit her Ravelry account.

I would like to create other patterns of hers, including the latest one published, the Hailey Sweater. Wonderful!
